Lewis helped to lay a solid foundation for us to build our marriage on. He and Geraldine were great examples of teaching young married what a Christian marriage should look like. I am sure that Lewis has already heard, "Well done, Lewis!" from our God. He is no longer living by faith, but by the wonders he sees!

I have love Lewis and Geraldine for a lot of years. They were my Sunday School teachers and I learned a lot from them. Lewis will be sorely missed but I know that he is in a much better place tha we are right now. We will see him someday.

Lewis certainly was a wonderful advocate for the Arthritis Foundation. Julia, you remember all the wonderful things he used to do in helping us with fundraisers, education series and so forth. Both he and Geraldine certainly were a true asset to the Foundation during the time I worked there. I miss them both very much and just want to offer my sincere sympathy to you and your Mom at this time of sorrow and loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mr. & Mrs. Watson were so gracious to open their home to the Central Baptist youth for Bible study every week. We listened to his teaching literally sitting at his feet. It didn't matter who you were, if you were popular or not, rich or poor, you mattered to them. Mr. Watson taught us to love Jesus and love each other by the way he loved us. Looking forward to seeing him again in heaven. Prayers of peace for Mrs. Watson and the rest of the family.

Lewis and Geraldine provided a second home for me at least once a week during my high school years at Central Baptist church. They offered their love, acceptance, and guidance consistently as I was a young growing Christian. Lewis taught Gods Word to me in a clear, gentle way, but with much conviction! We were disciples of Christ and we wanted to learn more and He was always up for the challenge. There was always an endless supply of popcorn and hugs and laughter from Geraldine! No one ever wanted to leave. Lewis loved cooking out by the pool while always making sure that safety came first at the "community" pool! Those silly boys! It comforted me knowing he was in the background always keeping an eye out for us. Lewis would also serve as the resident chiropractor! I didn't get many headaches back then, but when I did, he knew exactly what to do to make them go away! I'm sure there are so many things Lewis and Geraldine did to prepare for our close knit youth group. When you are young, you just think it just happened! At 51, I know they made a choice to open their home up to all of us, just as Christ had asked them and called them to do. I am thankful to have known and been blessed by the life of Lewis Watson.

Dearest Geraldine and family:
Please accept our love and condolences in the loss of Lewis. We have many fond memories of our days of worship and service together at Central Baptist. We were previliged to love and know so many wonderful folks...which included the Watson family, in days gone by.
May our Heavenly Father strengthen and give much comfort to each of you in the days ahead.

Bernice, it was so wonderful to see your comment.(notice my comment above yours, (Shirley B Evans). You brought tears to my eyes, really, to see your name. 5 wks ago this sunday, your sweet brother, had his eyes closed but listening to me & Geraldine talking like magpies. I asked if he had anyone left, and he said, "My sister Bernice, she's in a nursing home".
I said,"is her mind still good? He said,"It sure is."I really feel him,see his sweet face, hear his voice. You have made my day. I am so glad your brother made that trip to Bolivar not so long ago. They enjoyed it so much. I had met Julius, long ago. God Bless You, Lewis-Geraldine's dearest friend, shirley

Bernice, it was so "wonderful" to see your comment.(note mine a few above yours) You brought tears to my eyes, really, to see Lewis's sister on here. 5 wks. ago, this coming sunday, I was visiting him at PNeal. Gearldine & I were talking like magpies, I asked, 'Does Lewis have other siblings left? His eyes were closed, resting, but he was listening. He said, "Yes, My Sister Bernice". She's in a Nursing Home". I said, is her mind still good? He said, "Oh Yes".
I can still see his face, hear his voice. It was a good visit. I am so glad he made it to Bolivar last year. They both enjoyed it so much.
God Bless You and Keep You Bernice, shirley evans

I know you are resting well Lewis. God made a special place for such a good man as you. I'll never forget our trip to hunt in Bolivar and our fine fellowship driving down and back. Dianne remembers calling you a Texan cause your briscut was as good as hers. We loved the fish frys, your shooting snakes from the bank and that wonderful garden. Many stars must be shining in your crown now.. Hope the hunting and fishing are great in Heaven.
